MARY REICHARD, HOST: Lindsay Agbalokwu teaches sixth grade reading to middle schoolers in Colorado.
And when she showed up for work on Tuesday, she expected a completely normal day.
You know what’s next, right?
It wasn’t what she expected.
I should mention, by the way, yeah, she’s expecting.
She just wasn’t expecting Tuesday. She was expecting 10 days from Tuesday.
After she presented an award at assembly, she began feeling that tell-tale pressure and pain—and realized she needed to get to a hospital stat.
She told TV station KDVR, she tried to take it all in stride.
AGBALOKWU: Okay, I guess this is happening! So the dean’s on one side, the principal’s on the other side. Marissa’s kind of behind me. She’s a 7th grade teacher.
Soon, baby Zara came into the world at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
AGBALOKWU: I just gave birth on the sidewalk outside my school, like, this is so crazy! Like, what just happened?!
Right? Mom and baby are both healthy.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
