MEGAN BASHAM, HOST: Guys, when your wife tells you what she wants for Valentine’s Day next year, listen closely!
Allen Harris of Hartford, Kentucky, learned that lesson the hard way earlier this month.
His wife Nina made a special Valentine’s Day request, and the next morning…
NINA: When I got up and had my first cup of coffee, he said ah, he said, your turnips are here. I said turnips?
The problem was she asked for tulips, not turnips. As she told WPVI TV:
NINA: He wasn’t paying attention. He just said, yes, I know. ALLEN: I went and got the bucket and put the turnips in the bucket – says I love you on it, and I went in there and got her coffee, and there you go.
Allen thought Nina wanted the romantic root vegetables to plant in her garden.
But he made up for the error with two pots of tulips and a bouquet of candy to go with her Valentine’s Day turnips.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
