WORLD Radio - Kicker: The most expensive coffee

MEGAN BASHAM, HOST: If you’re a coffee lover — and who isn’t?!—you can snag an awardwinning cup of joe right now on the West Coast.

Klatch Coffee is serving the exclusive brew, called the Elida Natural Geisha 803—if that’s how you say it—in California.

It’s made from a batch of beans that won the Best of Panama coffee competition. Some people call it the Oscars of the coffee world.

Only 100 pounds of the beans were sold, and most of that went overseas. Klatch is the only chain in North America to have it. And they proudly tout it as the “World’s Most Expensive Coffee.”

The beans sold at auction for just over $800 a pound. And you can enjoy exclusive coffee brewed from the prized beans for just $75 a cup!

REICHARD:  Yowza!

BASHAM: Plus tax, of course.

It’s The World and Everything in It.
