Kicker: Testing Petco’s pet policy

MARY REICHARD, HOST: Petco has an open-door policy for customers’ furry companions. Pets are always welcome, as long as they’re safe, friendly, and on a leash.

So on his last visit to Petco, Vincent Browning of Texas bought his pet, Oliver. All 1,500 pounds of him! On a leash, of course!

Oliver is an African Watusi steer with giant horns, but of a gentle disposition.

Store workers didn’t hesitate to pet the animal and pose for photographs. Now, the leash policy is still in effect but I think when you say where should the steer stand, the answer has to be “wherever he wants.”
