Kicker: Shark and snakebit

MARY REICHARD, HOST: When you just can’t seem to get a break, you can be said to be snakebit.

20-year old Dylan McWilliams fits the bill.

Last week, he was surfboarding in Hawaii when a shark attacked him. Doctors patched him up with stitches and staples. McWilliams told CBS:

MCWILLIAMS: The scariest part was swimming back because I was maybe 50 yards from shore and there was blood behind me and I didn’t know where it was.

This wasn’t his first brush with that kind of danger.

Less than a year ago, a 300-pound black bear attacked McWilliams as he was camping in Colorado. More stitches.

If you don’t think that’s enough to qualify as snakebit, well, then consider this:

Three years ago, he was hiking in Utah when he encountered a rattlesnake.

Yep, he got bit.

And nope, it hasn’t lessened his love for the great outdoors.
