MARY REICHARD, HOST: Here’s something you don’t hear every day: hundreds of bagpipers piping AC/DC’s rock-and-roll classic “It’s a Long Way to the Top.”

It happened this week in Melbourne, Australia’s Federation Square. The very spot featured in the Aussie band's film clip from 1976. Thousands came out to witness the world-record attempt.

MUSIC CLIP: AC/DC tune on bagpipes

Yes, 374 pipers all together, setting a new national record for the most pipers piping together.

This piper endorsed the challenge!

WOMAN: I hadn’t been in a pipe band for 30 years, but this inspired me to practice again and I learned the tune!

MYRNA BROWN, HOST: Sounds like they really kilt it!

REICHARD: It’s The World and Everything in It.
