MARY REICHARD, HOST: 8-year old Hailey Dawson was born with only a pinkie and thumb on her right hand.
So the University of Las Vegas made her a robotic hand.
DAWSON: It helps me grab stuff.
Hailey loves baseball, and her prosthetic hand gives her a firm grip on the “old horsehide.”
That gave this little girl a big dream:
DAWSON: I’m throwing the first pitch out to every major league, um, ballpark.
Major League Baseball wants Hailey’s dream to come true, too.
Last week she threw out the first pitch at the Colorado Rockies ballpark, her 9th major-league park so far.
