MARY REICHARD, HOST: It’s always exciting in those movie chase scenes when the getaway car bumps down a flight of stairs.
An Uber driver in San Francisco last month wasn’t trying to escape anyone. He just followed directions a little too literally.
The ride-sharing company confirmed one of its drivers tried to navigate down a nine-step stairway and got stuck.
The driver blames it on Uber’s navigation software. He says it told him to drive down the stairs.
I am happy to report that neither the driver nor the two passengers was hurt. Well, except for maybe some injury to the driver’s reputation.
