MARY REICHARD, HOST: If you work from home, the state of Vermont may have a deal for you: Move to Vermont and the state will pay you up to $10,000!
Governor Phil Scott signed the initiative into law in May hoping to lure young professionals to move to the Green Mountain State.
The law is designed to cover your moving expenses and a few miscellaneous costs but there are a few catches.
Like this: The state only allocated $125,000 for the program in 2019. So maybe they expect a dozen or so to apply?
And maybe that’s all they’ll get, when you consider this other provision: You have to live there year-round!
If you take the money and move, you’ll have to live in Vermont full-time, and that means during those frigid winters that average 60 to 100 inches of snowfall.
