WORLD Radio - Kicker: Mets therapy

MARY REICHARD, HOST: New York Mets fans are probably feeling despondent over the Mets’ lousy season: one of the worst records in Major League Baseball this year.

Last Tuesday, things may have hit rock bottom. The audio here from MLB.COM

AUDIO: Now the pitch swung on and Reynolds hits it in the air to deep center. Way back to the warning track, to the wall. It is gone, goodbye! And it’s now Washington 24, New York 1.

From there, it only got worse. The score ended up at a demoralizing 25 to 4.

But now Mets fans have a way to cope. They’re entitled to online therapy sessions.

If you’re a despondent Mets’ follower, here’s all you have to do: just fill out a form that asks about your most trying moment as a fan.

New York-based UMA Health made the offer for free, online therapy after that Tuesday debacle.

UMA says the whole idea is to draw attention to therapy and get rid of the stigma of going to a therapist.

The stigma of being a Mets’ fan, well, that’s another story.

It’s The World and Everything in It.
