WORLD Radio - Kicker: Lost and found

MARY REICHARD, HOST:A woman in Manhattan last week left her Chanel purse in a subway station.

And here’s where the story gets worse: She had $10,000 in cash in it.

She left it at the West 66th Street and Broadway stop, right by a platform wall.

A man found the purse. And at first, the only thing he noticed inside was some paper with Russian writing on it. But he looked a little closer and discovered a big stack of hundred-dollar bills. One hundred of them, $10,000 worth.

So what did he do? Well, Richard Taverna is an honest man, so he took the purse to the local police precinct.

The woman who left the purse had reported the missing money to police before traveling to Russia.

And police say it’ll be waiting for her when she returns after the holidays!

It’s The World and Everything in It.
