MARY REICHARD, HOST: The Los Angeles Police Department posted a video to its Twitter page last week of an unidentified woman on a subway platform.
The footage showed a humbly dressed woman with her blonde hair pulled to the side in pigtails. Because she was pushing a cart, many onlookers believed her to be homeless.
She was caught on camera doing something surprising. No, she didn’t commit a crime.
This is what she did …
AUDIO: Sound of woman singing
She sang a haunting rendition of a Puccini aria.
No one seems to know for sure who the mystery woman is or where she came from.
Some Twitter users claimed to have seen her on stage in front of thousands. Others says she’s been riding the metro and pushing the very same cart for years.
The LAPD posted the video and tweeted the following: “4 million people call LA home. 4 million stories. 4 million voices…sometimes you just have to stop and listen to one, to hear something beautiful.”
It’s The World and Everything in It.
