MARY REICHARD, HOST: Some animal rights activists are calling on a church in Tennessee to stop horsing around.
The Cornerstone Nashville Church recently brought over some animals from a local wildlife park as sermon illustrations.
Associate Pastor Galen Davis related each of the animals to a scripture, including a horse, a ram, a cougar, and even a lion.
DAVIS: But there is only one lion of the tribe of Judah that roars.
REICHARD: But People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is calling on the church to stop it.
PETA says using the animals “in these types of displays undermines what it means to be a good steward of God’s creation.”
Lead pastor Maury Davis said a Tennessee wildlife official was on hand to ensure the animals were safe and sound. He added that the church and PETA will just have to agree to disagree.
