Well, a gentleman in Chicago caught the attention of a studio owner on the southside who caters to the young. But the owner took one listen and then took to social media to tout his talented senior find.
It’s since gone viral.
DUBOIS: Arthur Dubois, makin’ beats. Seventy-two years old.
Yes, Arthur Dubois is the grandfather of teenagers. But he used his extra time is retirement to teach himself hip-hop. Which involved learning two new things: music and computers.
And now that he’s getting popular, he tells NPR he’s learning social media, too, what with his new Instagram and Twitter accounts.
DUBOIS: I broke down and cried because I didn’t know that many people liked me.
