WORLD Radio - Kicker: Gone hog wild

MARY REICHARD, HOST: It’s not uncommon for someone to call the police if he feels he’s being followed. But this call from North Ridgeville, Ohio, was a little unusual.

DISPATCHER: North Ridgeville Police. CALLER: Hi, yes, I’m walking from the Elyria train station to my house in North Ridgeville, and a random pig just came up and started following me. DISPATCHER: A pig, you said? CALLER: Yes.

No joke. This is no prank call.

There really was a pig following the caller home from the Amtrak train station.

Police wrestled the pig into a squad car and later that day reunited it with its owner.

It’s The World and Everything in It.
