WORLD Radio - Kicker: Freeway traffic

MARY REICHARD, HOST: State Police in Maine got a call last week about a quadruped walking into traffic on an interstate highway, and refusing to leave.

Officers responded and said the subject did not respond to commands to exit the traffic zone.

No surprise. He probably didn’t understand, and now you’ll understand when I explain to you that he stood about two-and-a-half feet tall. He had a snout. Curly tail. He’s a pig.

A bit of gentle wrangling from animal control finally coaxed the unruly little porker into custody.

When asked if they read the pig its Miranda rights, police simply said “he waived the right to remain silent.”

EICHER: Admit nothing!

REICHARD: It’s The World and Everything in It.
