MARY REICHARD, HOST: It was a Christmas Eve rescue mission in Binghamton, New York for one very distressed squirrel.

A good Samaritan spotted her stuck with her head wedged in a drain hole on the side of a dumpster…cold, hungry, and maybe contemplating her poor life choices.

Firefighters and police freed the critter and turned her over to a wildlife rehab center. They named her the very festive name of “Holly,” though admitting that right now she smells like a dumpster and not amenable to a bath.

For now, she is warm, fed, and recovering in a nice heated cage. Once back on her paws, she’ll be released back into the wild.

MYRNA BROWN, HOST: Holly wasn’t available for comment?

REICHARD: Nah, she’s probably lawyering up over that dumpster hole!
