MARY REICHARD, HOST: It takes a pretty brazen thief to steal something from a police officer right in front of him! But that’s exactly what happened last weekend in Anchorage, Alaska.
The item stolen: A donut! Glazed, with sprinkles! The suspect is described as 12 inches long and furry, with a bushy tail.
A video on the Anchorage Police Department’s Twitter account shows the grey squirrel’s furtive scamper around a squad car, then making off with a donut nearly as big as the squirrel.
The Anchorage Police Department released the following statement on the incident, saying—quote—“Seriously. He stole a perfectly good donut. FROM A COP. That’s a straight-up felony. Also … it’s rude.”
It’s The World and Everything in It.
