Kicker: Clown for Congress

MARY REICHARD, HOST: There could soon be another clown in Washington— this time a real one.

Former Ringling Brothers circus clown Steve Lough is running for Congress in South Carolina as a Democrat.

In his announcement video— Lough juggled 5 balls to represent South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District.

LOUGH: Bump bah dah bump bup bah da bump bup and dwoop boom. Remember to vote for me in the June 12th Democratic primary. See ya later!

Lough joked that some people think lawmakers are all clowns.

He said, “Well, in my professional opinion, they are the worst clowns I’ve ever seen.”
