WORLD Radio - Kicker: Bringing the sheep home

MARY REICHARD, HOST: Rocky the Border collie loves his job. He works on a sheep farm in southwest England. He’s only seven months old, so he’s still learning the ropes.

The dog’s owner Rosalyn Edwards was in the kitchen when she heard a commotion in the next room. Around the corner she found nine sheep—and one Border collie—huddled in her living room.

I did say he’s still learning the ropes!

It seems Rocky saw an open gate outside and then an open back door to the house. So of course his herding instinct kicked in.

Edwards spent quite a while cleaning up after the muddy caravan. But she wasn’t mad. Edwards said, “Rocky did look quite pleased with himself, but he’s going to need more training. He brought a whole new meaning to ‘bringing the sheep home’.”

It’s The World and Everything in It.
