WORLD Radio - Kicker: Airport alligator

MARY REICHARD, HOST: Passengers on a Spirit Airlines flight from Baltimore to Orlando were treated to a bit of the local fauna after their plane landed.

As the airliner rolled toward the gate, an alligator decided to take a dip in a pond on the other side of the taxiway.

The lumbering reptile took five minutes to cross the tarmac in front of the jet— giving fascinated passengers an impromptu wildlife tour.

The airport says gator sightings are unusual— even though 280 acres of its land are covered in water.

It’s The World and Everything in It.
