MARY REICHARD, HOST: The name on the credit card looked familiar to waitress Flora Lunsford when a customer tried to pay for his meal last month. The name on the card was her husband’s name, but the man who handed it to her definitely was not her husband.
Lunsford said she had “no desire to pay for the fellow’s meal,” and promptly called the police.
They identified the customer as 21-year-old Shamon West. Police said he also had Lunsford’s driver’s license and Social Security card as well as other items belonging to the waitress.
Lunsford’s purse had been stolen from her car at a nearby gas station two days earlier.
