Kicker: A special birthday

MARY REICHARD, HOST: A lady in Queens, New York just celebrated her birthday with family members. 

Most of Ermisna Theodore’s 35 grandchildren came to her party—as did many of her great, and great great grandchildren.

What’s remarkable about all of this is Ermisna is celebrating her 112th birthday.    

One of her grandsons told WPIX TV…

THEODORE: Very blessed and fortunate to have had her all this time. I grew up here in the United States, and she’s basically like the bridge to like back home where my parents came from.

She was born in 1907 in Haiti and moved to the United States in 1984.

Her granddaughter said her grandma ate well. But that wasn’t the only key to her longevity.

ADELSON: She was around a lot of family, gave her a lot of love, and she kept active.

Ermisna is bedridden now, but until very recently, she was physically fit and loved to take long walks!
