MARY REICHARD, HOST: Veterinarian Claire Simeone worried something had gone horribly wrong at an animal hospital in Hawaii where she works.
Simeone got several phone calls in a row from the facility. So she hurried in, thinking some emergency was underfoot.
She arrived to learn the animals were just fine. But the phone lines were jammed with worried pet owners who had also received calls from the hospital.
Finally, the good doctor solved the mystery. A gecko was perched on the office phone touchscreen! One leg pressing “recent call history,” and the other leg positioned to actually make the calls!
Simeone put the prank-calling gecko outside where it wouldn’t create further chaos.
