MEGAN BASHAM, HOST: Some people just love vehicles.
Gerry Moore is one of them. He’s owned his motorboat—a 1986 Chris Craft 210 Scorpion for several years.
The boat is no longer seaworthy.
But it is street legal.
MOORE: As long as you have headlights, tail lights, turn signals and horns, you’re good.
When folks see a boat on wheels sailing down the beachfront boulevard, they grab their smartphone cameras.
But what they’re really seeing is a stripped down 2003 Ford Expedition with a boat for a body.
Gerry’s wife Karen is first mate of the boat–car. She told WEAR tv that her husband built it in almost no time at all.
MOORE: It took him three days, three days he drove it out of our yard.
Together, Gerry and Karen have beaten cancer three times, and it’s taught them not to put anything off.
Gerry wanted a boat-car, so Gerry built a boat-car!
REICHARD: Great attitude! Love it.
BASHAM: It’s The World and Everything in It.
