MARY REICHARD, HOST: Transportation officials in Wisconsin have a reminder for drivers: “Road Closed” signs aren’t suggestions.
Highway cameras captured the driver of a pickup truck stopping at a construction zone, getting out, and moving a road-closure barrier.
And then he climbs back into the truck and drives onto an on-ramp that crews had just covered with fresh concrete.
What would ensue didn’t take long...the pickup truck sank into more than a foot of wet pavement and later had to be pulled out.
Afterward, the Wisconsin DOT released the video with a simple warning: Please do not be that guy.
Officials haven't said whether he received a citation, but imagine the call he had to make to his insurance company beginning with the words: “I ignored a Road Closed barrier.”
Ah. It just gets worse from there.
