In one of the worst massacres in Canadian history, eight people were murdered at the hands of a crazed 18-year-old. Most of the victims are young teens, students from a rural secondary school. One was a female teacher. The shooter’s mother and stepbrother were also found dead in their home. The murderer took his own life at the school where most of the victims were killed and many more wounded. He was a deeply troubled young man pretending to be a woman.

Some press reports have carefully documented this fact.

Other sources, like The New York Times and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), have chosen to participate in a fundamental fiction about the shooter.

At a press conference on Wednesday, RCMP Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald referred to the suspect as “an 18-year-old female by the name of Jesse.” He also confirmed police had visited the suspect’s home “several times over the years” and “some of those calls were related to mental health issues.” The commissioner explained that on one of those visits “firearms were seized” but eventually returned. McDonald was responding to the first question of the press conference: “Were there any red flags regarding his (the shooter’s) mental health?” There certainly were.

Commissioner McDonald, elaborating on who the shooter was, stated, “I can say that Jesse was born as a biological male, who, approximately … six years ago began to transition to female, and identified as female, both socially and publicly.” He also carefully explained to the gathered press that his agency will “identify the suspect as they chose to be identified in public and in social media.”

The New York Times, in its reporting, referred to the shooter as “Ms. Van Rootselaar.” It also uncritically parroted McDonald’s account that “Jesse Van Rootselaar, was biologically born male and began transitioning to female six years ago.” The Times also notes “the police would continue identifying her as a female” as did the Times throughout its story.

Let’s be clear: Both the police and the Times—whose missions are to chase and find the truth—are deliberately participating in the very madness that contributed to this horrific and demonic loss of life.

This deceptive participation has captured the public consciousness in the last few years. Our most important secular truth-seeking and truth-telling guilds—academia, media, law and medicine/science—are wholly captured by it. Sadly, too many Christian leaders have done the same. Their credibility has been bankrupted by their choices and actions.

No one is “trans.” It does not exist in nature. It is an ideological construct fabricated wholesale out of gender theory.

Here are the facts that the RCMP and the Times are papering over. It is important we remind ourselves of the truth.

Fact #1: The shooter was not “born male.” He was male. It was not a phase, resulting from confusion or lack of realization.

Fact #2: The shooter was not “transitioning to female.” That is impossible. Female is a fixed biological reality, objectively defining half of humanity. One does not become female through effort, process, or medical experimentation. One is a woman by nature. To deny this is to reject the objective wonder of girlhood/womanhood, as well as humanity itself.

Fact #3: Thus, no one is “trans.” It does not exist in nature. It is an ideological construct fabricated wholesale out of gender theory. Even the American Psychiatric Association readily confesses “transgender” is not a medical or psychiatric diagnosis.

The truth is, until we actively and bravely set ourselves free from the insidiously deceptive and deeply consequential language games of gender ideology, we will never free ourselves and our impressionable children from this deadly mind virus. It is pure ideological capture, and nearly all elite professions that should know better choose to sustain its lies, as we see here in this instance.

The most powerful antidote against these lies is for every person to simply refuse to play along. Do not mimic the language out of a false kindness or fear of being unenlightened. It is those who play the game who are uninformed. Refusing to live by lies is the most compassionate and truly virtuous thing we can do, and it starts with the correct use of language.

Unfortunately, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and The New York Times have chosen to pedal the deception. As such, they have failed at their reason for existing. When we act differently and stand for reality, the lies melt away.

Doing so just takes reason, clarity, and courage. Each of us have these in us. Sanity demands we demonstrate them. That kind of courage is contagious, and we desperately need that today.
