The emperor has no uterus
Transgender ideology is insane, and it’s spreading
It’s happened again, this time before a House of Representatives committee hearing on DEI ideology in medical schools. Just days ago, the chancellor of the University of California San Francisco was asked directly why official university documents refer to “pregnant people” rather than “pregnant women.” Dr. Samuel Hawgood rather blandly responded that the term is just meant to be inclusive. “So, that is a part of a curriculum to help our students who are facing a wide diversity of patients,” he said. He continued: “Of course, a vast majority of pregnancies are in women. And I have absolutely no problem with using the word pregnant women. I use it myself.”
Well, good for the chancellor using the term pregnant women, at least in some cases. He offered his answer as if it should make perfect sense and be accepted by all. But let’s be clear, the chancellor’s statement turns the entire world upside down and rejects biological reality itself—which would seem to be a problem for a major medical research establishment. Rep. Mary Miller, R-Ill., did see the problem, so she asked the chancellor if a “non-biological” woman could bear a child. The chancellor was quick with his response: “A transgender person can.”
This is one of those moments when only the irrational makes sense. Consider it an “Emperor has no clothes” moment of clarity. In this case, the emperor has no uterus. If a human body can bear a child, it is a female body. If a body comes with male anatomy, it is a male. We are not talking here about questions of unclear gender, which are real but rare. We are talking about a male claiming to be female and a female claiming to be male.
Actually, since in this case we are talking about a “pregnant person,” we are in the clarifying posture of stating the biologically true and unchanging fact: If you are pregnant, you are a woman. Period. If you have testicles, you are male. To press the point, if you can become pregnant, you are female, you started female and you remain female. Furthermore, the truth now requires articulation right down to the fact that if you can become pregnant, you are female and have always been female.
Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., asked who can get pregnant. “It is possible for transgender people,” Hawgood said. The California administrator was just one of several medical and university officials to testify at the hearing, and the issue came up over and over again. It has also emerged in previous hearings before different congressional panels.
In one sense, it has all become frustratingly predictable. Americans are increasingly aware of this irrationality and ideological subversion of reality, and most are not buying into the subversion. Nevertheless, the ideological poison has reached deeply where it matters most—in the upper echelons of American academia and the medical professions.
The mass experiment in delusion is also more complicated than it looks. Some medical authorities now attempt to avoid the gender issue entirely. A human being with a penis and a prostate gland—and even a body that once featured a penis and a prostate gland—is a male body. A human being with ovaries and a uterus—or who at any time had ovaries and a uterus—is a woman plain and simple. In the case of obstetric care, it is clear that the body is a functioning female body, and thus the person is a woman, whatever the individual’s presentation or gender confusion.
In terms of medical practice, we now face a direct threat of irrationality subverting biology and medical sense. A woman cannot have prostate cancer and a man cannot need a hysterectomy. The ideology of the gender revolutionaries has now overtaken biological reality within some of the most elite medical establishments in the land.
It is as if the chancellor of the University of California San Francisco, one of the most advanced medical centers in the world, had just claimed that the heart has nothing to do with the circulation of blood. Male and female are, if anything, even more basic to anatomy than circulation. At the very least, human beings figured out the male and female distinction long before they discovered the circulation of blood in the body. The same goes for children, who are blessedly free of ideological contamination.
It is also worth noting that the mainstream media would never even touch this story. That’s worth our attention for this fundamental reason: They know full well that the transgender ideology is a lie. They also know that a news article on this congressional hearing, even if distorted through their reportorial or editorial framework, would show that the emperor has no clothes. Or, as we now have to assert: The emperor has no uterus. And, just to clarify once again, if you have a uterus and are pregnant, you are a female, and not just a “pregnant person.”
I don’t believe that the chancellor, who is an intelligent man, really meant what he said. Nevertheless, he felt he had to say it. That is even scarier, and you are right to fear where this is headed.
