Erasing fundamental reality

A few weeks ago, in my job as a research analyst for Focus on the Family, I testified at the Colorado State House against a truly evil trans bill that has now sadly become law. During my testimony before the Senate committee in a jampacked hearing room, I sat elbow to elbow with a representative from Colorado Gays Against Groomers as he testified as well. Were we on opposite sides? No. Curiously enough, we were compatriots on this question. In fact, his opposition to the bill was every bit as red-hot as mine.

How did we both enter this bizarro-world? Easy. LGBTQ incoherence.

The Rainbow Religion—now into its high holy month of Pride where we’re all expected to solemnly genuflect—is an artificial, incoherent construct. Literally. The movement does not and will never logically cohere because it rests on a fundamentally flawed anthropology. And this weakness is not a bug. Its very reason for being is to upend the biological fact of humanity as male and female. Thus, the stubborn fact of the human binary is its fatal flaw.

My Gays Against Groomers friend had caught a glimpse of the irrational gravity inherent in LGBTQ ideology. Afterall, gays are nearly as clear as we are at Focus on the Family about the objective reality of the male and female person. They have their own keen interest in what a man is. Lesbians share the same certainty, given their own interests. Yes, the Ls, the Gs and the Bs are pretty plainly binary. The Bs have the binary right there in their name!

Of course, the essential difference between me and my Gays Against Groomer neighbor is our competing teleology of what male and female are for in their ontological, sexual, and familial ends. We disagree on what men and women are for, but we both agree they objectively exist.

Not so for the Ts and the Qs. For them, the binary is reality’s original sin and must be thoroughly rooted out. To be sure, LGBs were always set on unseating hetero male/female norms. They just never bargained that the Ts and the Qs would take it so far, erasing fundamental reality itself.

This is precisely why the so-called “LGBTQ community” is not a community at all and no reasonable person should ever pretend it is. They have never really gotten along due to competing interests. Gay and lesbian thought leaders like Andrew Sullivan, Jonathan Rauch, Douglas Murray, and Camile Paglia have long admitted this fact. But the objective fact of the binary drives the divisive incoherence. It’s why Gays Against Groomers has infamously been declared a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center because it “amplifies dehumanizing anti-trans rhetoric.”

Consider, as well, something called “The Lesbian Bar Project.” It laments the dramatic dwindling of lesbian bars across the nation. Ironically, squabbles exist over what a lesbian bar actually is. Most of us are crystal clear on the subject. It’s not difficult. But the very project seeking to protect lesbian bars offers this truly wacky working definition:

The Lesbian Bar Project believes what makes a bar uniquely Lesbian is its prioritization of creating space for people of marginalized genders including women (regardless if they are cis or trans), non-binary folks, and trans men.

In fact, the Project proclaims, “the label Lesbian belongs to all people who feel that it empowers them.” With allies like this….

Do you appreciate what is happening here? Men invading women’s space killed the lesbian bar. Lesbian erasure, yes, is a thing. In fact, it is now judged transphobic to complain that lesbians are going extinct.

Trans and queer inclusion demand the first three letters in the Pride alphabet lose all meaning. Gay and trans patriarchy ensure women take the brunt of this phenomenon. Few have pointed this out better than liberal feminist Kara Dansky in her important book, The Abolition of Sex: How the “Transgender” Agenda Harms Women and Girls. She asserts trans and queer ideology are made-up concepts, essentially “left-wing misogyny on steroids.” She adds, “I say this as a leftist and a Democrat.”

She is not wrong. This is the very real state of “gay pride” this June!

This year’s Pride Month is the perfect time for all people of reason—those who hold to the objective beauty and mystery of male and female—to demand Rainbow People stop expecting all of us to pretend their worldview is coherent, reasonable, and loving. It is not.

Male and female are about the image of God in creation, creating families, and giving each new generation of humanity essential maternal and paternal love. LGBTQ ideology is fundamentally set against this, and thus, is anti-human and incoherent.
