German bomb plot suspect kills himself
Jaber Albakr, a 22-year-old Syrian man suspected of having ties with Islamic State and plotting a bombing at a Berlin airport, killed himself Wednesday in a Leipzig, Germany, prison cell, according to Saxony’s state Justice Ministry. Albakr, who had been granted asylum in Germany last year, was apprehended Monday after three fellow Syrians tied him up and notified police. Authorities are investigating Wednesday’s suicide.
