Family calls for charges in Tulsa police shooting
The police shooting of an unarmed African-American man in Tulsa, Okla., has ignited protests and calls for criminal charges against the officers involved. Police responded Friday evening to a report of a disabled vehicle and met 40-year-old Terence Crutcher. Officers say Crutcher did not follow their commands during the encounter and was reaching into his car window when he was shot. In a video taken from a police helicopter flying over during the incident, someone in the aircraft can be heard saying, “That looks like a bad dude, too. Probably on something.” Crutcher’s sister, Tiffany Crutcher, responded Monday at a press conference: “That big bad dude was enrolled at Tulsa Community College, just wanting to make us proud. That big bad dude loved God. That big bad dude was at church singing with all of his flaws, every week.”
