A good back story here. Oliver Billy Sipple was a USMC Viet Nam war veteran. He was closeted and lived in the Tenderloin district. Not even his family knew he was gay. That however was destined to change, thanks to Milk. Sipple was a bystander present when a deranged Charles Manson acolyte pulled a pistol and attempted to shoot Gerald Ford. Sipple thwarted the shooter. He was a hero. He eschewed any publicity and declined "hero status". Milk learned the young man was gay. He was determined to "out" Sipple and out him he did to the local media. Of course there was no assertion of any privacy right for Sipple's lifestyle, not if it meant advancing a gay public relations victory orchestrated by Milk. On the occasion of his death decades later, President Ford didn't attend the funeral but expressed gratitude for the man who foiled another assassination.
To his credit, it was Milk alone among San Francisco political elites who first became alarmed at the clout of Jim Jones' SF-based PEOPLES TEMPLE cult. You don't hear much about it today, but many later prominent Democrats were glad when the Temple bused in members to knock on doors and stuff envelopes to support those candidates. I'm talking about you Dianne Feinstein.

There is truly no bottom to the perversion and nihilism of the administrations @ Obama & Biden. They fought 24/7/366 to “fundamentally transform America” by foisting the sexual devolution upon our society in so many ways. Obama honored this documented pederast by naming a Navy ship after him. Biden elevated Milk’s ilk by posting them to cabinet positions. Thanks for the exposè Thaddeus.

Wow. I’ve heard of the Kinsey report and what it was about, but I’m blissfully ignorant of the depth of depravity of these other people. Trying to see what is remotely heroic about any of them. Very informative piece, Mr. Williams, in a truly alarming way.
Kinsey based a lot of his findings on interviews and data collected from .... male prison inmates. To which I say "Are you kidding me?" And I've never understood how that biased methodology didn't get him laughed out of serious research groups! The only thing comparable is when a "sex story" is prefaced with the phrase "According to the latest PLAYBOY readers' poll, surveys confirm that.."

A perverse penchant for young boys was common in the classical Greek era.
The scandalous sex abuse by so many Catholic priests seems to frequently devolve to molestation of teen boys.
I think I have seen studies that addicts to pornography often seek increasingly more extreme perversity to feed their addiction, and that often devolves to child porn and child molestation.
I was unaware until I read this article that some of those listed were pederasts. They should be dishonored.
Jimmy Saville was knighted by the Queen. I believe his honors have been revoked. The man known to most Americans for his Outback Aussie themed song "Tie Me Kangaroo Down", Rolf Harris, was similarly disgraced as a child abuser molestor though his perversity was not as grotesque as Jimmy Saville.
All the honored "intellectual titans" listed in the article as being pro pederasty should have all honors and privileges yanked. The only American to ever be outed and down graded was Allard Lowenstein.

This is a welcome corrective to the liberal hagiography that has obscured the truth about Harvey Milk. But I still have to ask why WORLD left these details out of the story they published yesterday about Milk's name being removed from a US naval vessel. When WORLD reporter Elizabeth Russell answered the question, "Who was Harvey Milk?" she left all this out.
Why not more detail from Ms. Russell? Because she wrote it in the "Sift”. Where you are only going to see fast, short nuggets of breaking news, meant to serve the appetite of readers who lack the time to read longer stories. Obviously, to meet this requirement, the "Sift" articles are going to be missing detail and many times require correction as more information becomes available.

I prefer Phil Robertson's legacy to Harvey Milk's. I wonder if Phil will have a day named after him.

I am waiting for the George Floyd commemorative stamp and a navy ship named after him. Perhaps a national holiday?
Did he mistreat children, too? He had a drug problem, and may have messed with counterfeit money. Unless he also did stuff to kids, I'd prefer him on a stamp and a ship over this other dishonorable honoree.
The point being the Left can make anyone look like a hero.
"In 2009, George Floyd was arrested for a 1st-degree felony charge, as per police criminal records/history/past, of assault and armed robbery he took part in 2007 and spent five years in prison for breaking into a lady’s house with the intent to rob her. George agreed that he wore a blue uniform to look like a government employee to gain the lady’s trust and eventually pave his way into the house.
The lady soon realized that the person was impersonating to be a government worker, she tried to shut the door but Floyd brute-forced his way into the house. Consequently, a Ford truck pulled up to the house’s main entrance, five people exited the truck and went straight inside the lady’s house.
According to Daily Mail (UK), the court report mentions that the victim identified George as the criminal, tallest of all the robbers, who pressed a pistol to her stomach and forced his way into the house. George Floyd’s height was 6 foot 6 inches. Not finding any cash, Floyd and other men took jewelry and the lady’s cellphone and fled the scene using the truck."
Not a hero, a martyr. From what you posted, he'd already served his time. Other news reports said he was trying to turn his life around. He was a common criminal, and repentance is hard. His case is really more about the "good" people - cops - doing bad.
Actually, both men were martyrs. One was a martyr for the cause of doing what God has forbidden. The other was a martyr for the cause of demanding the government do what's right.

T-Dub is bringing the fire! I knew about the perversion of Harvey Milk, John Money, and Alfred Kinsey, but it was news to me that Wilhelm Reich, Michel Foucault, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Jacques Derrida were also in that camp. I should not have been surprised, I guess. If you run their terrible ideas to their logical conclusions, you end up with nothing stopping people from acting out their most evil desires. It's the natural outcome of removing God as the arbiter of moral ethics and instead making each person into their own god. It's a tale as old as the Garden of Eden, when the serpent said to Eve, "You will be like God" (Gen 3:5).

We were told that homosexuality was none of our business if it was between "consenting adults." But once the camel's nose is in the tent, the rest was bound to follow. A slippery slope isn't a fallacy when you're pushed down it.

And as I recall there was a young child in the house at the time. Thank God those six men were content to stop at burglary.
