Well if we truly believe in parental rights, we'll defend this father's right to do what he considers to be protecting his daughter.

MinnieKinsLaura Fredrickson

Even if it goes against Scripture?

KDON9307MinnieKins

I think assuming any belief in scripture from Laura Fredrickson is a waste of time.

Laura FredricksonMinnieKins

Scripture is not the law of the land.

zonieLaura Fredrickson

And if you believe in parental rights, what about the mother's rights? Or are you just arguing for the sake of being argumentative?

Laura Fredricksonzonie

So parental rights only apply to the parent you agree with politically and religiously?

Good job dad. By telling a teenager she can't do something, chances are she will want it even more. May God work powerfully in this young girl's life!

If her mother lives an authentic life following our Savior and living in His love the daughter will see and the Spirit of God will speak more to her through that more than spending 2 hours in any church on Sunday morning.

It’s sad this is starting in America. May we rise to combat it with good arguments and show that our constitution still stands. They should let the daughter choose. May the man come to faith in God.

Where is the religious liberty counsel? Here's a perfect opportunity for a case study.
This is such a strange ruling. The cult expert has too much influence over the judge, who is the one ruling with authoritarianism. Scary.

The problem here is we live in a culture where no one is allowed to determine Truth. Who is to say whether Calvary Chapel's teaching is salutary or abusive? None of this is objective. How one answers this question is based on one's metaphysics. Without a metaphysical consensus, the West will not be able to survive the twin on-slaughts of materialism and Islam.

We need leaders (and followers) who can stand up and articulate a coherent vision of reality, the human person, and rights beyond the freedom to do and be anything one wants. Currently, we are just fighting rear-guard skirmishes over minor issues that accumulate into major policies.

This is terrifying. The judge's blatant bias should get her removed from the bench.

1. This makes the case for why marriage is really important for being a parent.
2. The father is obviously an atheist, or at least anti-religious, as he has no plans for paying attention to the daughter’s religious education.
3. The Maine court’s track record, of an extreme anti-religious bent or bias, clearly shows they are not qualified to render justice in cases with religious content.
4. How can they know if the child has been mentally damaged if they have not questioned the child about her beliefs and understanding of those beliefs?

Unbelievable.
Well, then, today, maybe all too believable...

MinnieKins

This is horrific.
